Description
So Called Half Dollar, 1947 C. Smith restrike of the original 1927 piecestruck to honor the Aviator Charles Lindbergh for his historic flight across the Atlantic. 31mm,
by Whitehead & Hoag.
A stunning Superb Gem, certified NGC MS-67. Fully struck and with colorful original toning, which also appears to have some Cameo contrast under the color. This had been in the same 2x2 holder likely since issue (extra images provided of the holder
it was in prior to submission to NGC
), which has resulted in the toning that developed. To the naked eye, or under 3 power, appears mark free, and until recently I hated to remove it from the old time holder. Also commonly collected as a Good Luck Token. In this case, you are being asked to pay a premium for the originality and "wow" factor, regardless of how common a piece this normally is - "common" is somewhat relative as there are only 13 in MS-67 with 6 finer, not a lot considering how many of this piece you tend to see offered raw here on ebay. I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items – for best service please use the ebay Shopping Cart feature and ASK FOR A COMBINED INVOICE before payment, or contact me for a quote.
I ship at my actual cost for Insured First Class Mail for your protection.
