    Description

    Good Luck Token, featuring Santa Claus on the Obverse, with a "Merry Christmas" legend. "A Lucky New Year" within a horseshoe on the Reverse.  For some reason, I seem to remember a reference to the 1933/34 Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago, but could not find it. HOWEVER, the design is more similar to Types issued prior to 1920, in the lettering and features. Not signed, so no help there.  It is possible that it was issued for one of the major Department stores, as it bears a resemblance to others I have seen from those sources.  32mm, possibly Gold-plated rather than Gilt (brass) based upon the color.  Uncirculated, about as Gemmy as you are likely to ever find one of these, and RARE.  I was able to find only one other sale of the same.
